Yvonne Kupka,wife of barisaxophonist,composer president of Strokeland Records and one of the founding members of the legendary group The Tower Of Power,is on the donor list for a new liver.
There are various parts of her treament are not covered by her health insurance,so a fund has been set up to help defray the costs.
I urge you to support Yvonne and the Kupka family in this time of need.

Tuesday Midday Medley 10-19-10
Hey all!
Man,trying to catch my breath! Don 't know if I'll be able to sleep tonight!
Did this one without a script,as usual!
Phones didn't want to sync up with the system,so I had to put Scooter on speaker phone and put a mike up to it! But it worked!
Fun show!
I do want to thank Lonnie McFadden,Phil Dixon,George Robinson,Jeff Jones,Crayge Linsey,Ricky Anderson,Tom Pender,The brothers from Unidos,Earl Gant,the one and only Alonzo "Scooter Powell,and everybody else whose names I can't remember because I just woke up who made music history bringing the Funk!
I also want to remember the local funksters who could not be there for the show who had to work,because you made life a lot easier to bear,with the beat!
This show was also dedicated to the memory of Steven L.Harvey,Forest Anderson,James McReynolds,Greg Lee and Michael Gregory,the real spirits of the local Funk scene!

Sharon's Linesisters and friends are hosting a virtual celebration in an effort to raise money to assist her.
As you know, Sharon has been suffering from sarcoidosis since 1992, and has had two strokes within the past two years while raising her 14-year-old son, Jordan,
Sharon's birthday is October 2nd. Her Linesisters (Indomitable 21 sorors of Alpha Chapter) are honoring her with a virtual birthday celebration. Let's show Sharon how much we love her by sending her birthday greetings, messages of encouragement, etc. via the link below:

The Use Of The "N" Word
Hey All You Fusionfunkateers!
With all of the contraversy surrounding Dr.Laura Schlessinger for her use of the "N" word,Do you think that a music D.J. playing a song with the word is inviting any cotraversy?
I happen to think that if it's done by artists,it's less offensive because the word is not directed at anyone.
I am thinking about playing a song by Sly and The Family Stone called "Don't Call Me Nigger Whitey".
Do you think I'd be creating a firestorm by doing so?
